Synopsis:

Wake of Shadows is a psychological horror novel that follows young widow Sydney Tallis, who has a history of mental illness, as she attempts a solo 3-day hike on the Trans Canada Trail north of Edmonton, Alberta. While on the trail she encounters a volley of strange and frightening things (including a weird little grey creature with eyes reminiscent of her dead husband’s, imperceptible figures with no faces, strange whistling noises and footprints, strange odours, and others), all of which could be a manifestation of her questionable sanity.
